The Panhandle Youth Football Association better known as the PYFA was established in 1980.

For over 30 years the football and cheer-leading program of the PYFA has grown from just 4 local area teams of Walton, Niceville, Shalimar and Destin to over 50+ teams from Ages 5 to 12 in four different division for tackle football and cheer.

As of 2019, the PYFA consists of Niceville, Walton, South Walton, Jackson County, Vernon, Holmes County, Freeport, Destin, Lynn Haven, Panama City Beach, Shalimar, Fort Walton Beach and Crestview.

The PYFA has two Divisions, the East and West. Each Division is made up of six to eight teams. The top four teams from each Division makes the Playoffs.

Every program in the PYFA strives to provide the highest level of competition, coaches, players and facilities while also furnishing the develop-mental instruction for all athletes in football and cheer.
